Hotel Pelirocco- Brighton
A few weeks back I whisked my lovely boyfriend off to the seaside for a weekend of SUN, SEA AND SAND to celebrate his birthday.
Well, I say that, but it was more like DRIZZLE, PEBBLES AND CHIPS because it was a British Bank Holiday but we still had an absolutely belting time. And one of the main reasons why, was our hotel.
Situated right slap bang on the seafront in Regency Square, Hotel Pelirocco is without doubt, one of the coolest, funnest joints I’ve ever rested my head in.
Describing itself as “the original rock’n’roll hotel, the hotel has 19 rooms, all uniquely themed and decorated thus. Downstairs, the walls are covered in posters, pictures, artwork, framed records, murals- you could send a very long time simply drinking it all in! All over the hotel are whimsical little touches- check out the sinks in the ladies loo for instance.
We checked in with the super-friendly staff and headed up to our room. I’d booked the Koibito Love themed room, which promised to blend together elements of both contemporary and traditional Japanese culture.
AND MAN ALIVE IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT.
For starters, how cool is this mural adorning one of the walls?
All around the room were lovely little touches nodding to Japanese culture- fans, a chabudai inspired low coffee table, a Japanese tea set and beautiful light kimono dressing gowns (modelled here by my super fit boyfriend).
With huge big bay windows looking out over Regency Square and down to the seafront, and a little balcony for us to sip some Jasmine tea on (okay fine, drink prosecco on) we were IN LOVE.
BUT LET’S TALK ABOUT THIS BED THOUGH.
The bed has STAIRS to get up to it hahahahahahah! It was so awesome, big, squashy and round all atop a bamboo platform and backing onto a stunning gold leaf wall- it was like sleeping on a BED-THRONE.
Off to the side there was a dinky little bathroom with a sunken bath tub, a rain shower and gorgeous Rituals products on tap.
Perfect for sipping one of the hotel’s signature cocktails whilst taking a soak before dinner. WOOHOO SAUCY PIC ALERT COMING UP
hahahahhahahhaha I’m in the bath!!!!
The hotel is really super, we absolutely adored it. Fun touches, a good breakfast, lovely staff and a stone’s throw away from all Brighton’s best bits- which we made the most of over the weekend! Strolling along the beach, stopping for ice-cream, making ourselves dizzy on the carousel, playing air hockey in the arcades, screaming with laughter at the pier fairground and wandering the lanes, stopping whenever the mood struck us (or whenever the sun came out!) for a cheeky pint.
THANKS BRIGHTON YOU ARE A DREAM!
