In Bed With Ibis

As a twentysomething trying to scrape a meagre living in the Big Smoke, luxury hotels are always waaaay out of my budget for a night away. However, cheaper hotels don’t necessarily mean rubbish hotels, as I discovered a couple of weeks ago.

On a drizzly Monday evening, He and I were invited by Accor Hotels for a night at the London Euston St Pancras Ibis. I’ve actually never stayed with this chain before but the promise of a saucy staycation with my beau in crisp hotel sheets was way too good to pass up. AND MAN ALIVE I WAS SO SURPRISED!

It was SO lovely.

The foyer is a huge open space, with modern furnishings and gorgeous light fittings which feeds out onto a big central bar and lounge area.

We checked in, and toddled up to the room.

Compact, but with more than enough space for two, our double room had the crisp sheets I’d been looking forward to, plus all the amenities you’d expect- tea/coffee, TV, iron etc.

All settled into our snuggly little room at @ibishotelsuk! #inbedwithibis

But there were such lovely touches, complimentary bottles of mineral water, fluffy dressing gowns hung up in the wardrobe, and a platter of fruit and sweet treats waiting on the desk to greet me!

The en suite bathroom was so cute. It was like a little pod in the room, all gleaming white and blue glass. I snuck in to take a sneaky snap before we headed out for the night.

Meeting back down in the foyer, we met with the management team at the Ibis, who treated up to a few glasses of fizz before taking us round the facilities. They chatted about how proud they are of their ever-changing menu, which features quirky options such as chorizo sausages and french toast as part of their DELICIOUS breakfast, alongside world classics.

Carrying on through to the meeting rooms, once again I was super surprised. Not the dry, beige, corporate spaces I’d been expecting- NO SIR-EE. Big, street-art inspired murals, bright colours, interactive whiteboards, kick-ass coffee machines, stationary supplies and, a COOKIE OVEN. Warm cookies fresh for your meeting. Hell yeah.

The hotel is in a PRIME position for a special night out in London town. We hopped into cabs and within mere minutes were outside The Roundhouse, ready to take our seats to watch Clean Bandit. They were well good. Much better live than I was expecting, with the SASSIEST singers I’ve seen for ages.

Once we’d danced our socks off it was back into our awaiting CHARIOTS (Ubers) which sped us off to our little city bolthole for the evening. The bed was SOOPER comfy and despite waking up full of cold (ugh snot is just so naht da one) we awoke fresh and rested, and because we weren’t in our usual beds, it all felt very exciting and such a treat. Espesh for a Monday night.

After munching our way through more than our fair share of the buffet breakfast (which was excellent- full hot options, baskets of pastries, meats, cheeses, posh bread, juices, coffee, teas etc)- we easily checked out and happily skipped off to work.

All in all I was WELLLLL impressed with Ibis and would so very happily stay in another one of their hotels for a cheeky wee staycation!

Our stay and gig tickets were complimentary, all opinions my own. Thanks Ibis for such a wonderful evening!

Looks like such quirky and colourful place! I’ve seen a lot of Ibis’ from the outside but never knew they looked this fun on the outside! I’ll definitely keep them in mind for the next time I’m in need of a place to stay!
