Just a wee quick one today folks but I just wanted to share this incredibly fun tome that popped through my letterbox recently, Fashion Mash-Up!
Okay, so this interactive book is a collaboration between the V&A, Penguin and fashion illustrator Daisy de Villeneuve. It’s a whistle stop tour of fashion through the ages but it encourages you to get stuck in and get creative! Remember those paper dolls you had when you were little, and you could press out paper clothes and fold them around the doll to give her different outfits? WELL IT’S A FUNKIER VERSION OF THAT!
In the book there’s six different dolls, and a whole heap of items to dress them up in, including designer items from the V&A’s archives, foil and glitter stickers PLUS five backgrounds to snap your dolls in once they’re dressed up in their finest. There’s fashion facts, styling tips and giving me all kinds of fash-spiration.
I’ve had such unapologetic fun playing with this, it’s a welcome change from adult colouring books and is super whimsical and LOVELY. And it’s cool learning about like, what knickers people wore back in the Victorian times.
It was released YESTERDAY and retails at £17.99- a perfect Christmas gift perhaps for any sartorial pals you may have drawn out of the Secret Santa ballot! Available to buy here!
I received an advance copy from Penguin Books but all opinions are my own!
