Friday Feeling, Lists

Friday Feeling!

In a week that saw us all mourn the loss of The Great British Bake-Off to Channel 4 (SOB), here’s the good stuff that I found this week.

My best pal Izzy is home after living a year abroad with her fiance, and I could not be more happy about it. On Friday we gathered at The Taproom on Upper Street to sling back a few beers and toast their safe return to the bosom of their friends and family.
  • A Midsummer Night’s Dream streamed  live from The Globe
After a dreamy Sunday spent brunching and pint slurping in the sunshine, I settled in for the live streaming of Emma Rice’s production of Midsummer and it was GLORIOUS! An absolute riot and as much as I love the atmosphere when you do the groundling ting at The Globe, it was so lush to watch it from the comfort of my sofa, with a plate of Roast Chicken and a glass o’red. It’s available for 6 months here and is WELL WORTH a gander in my humble opinion.

  • Junkyard Golf
Monday was DATE NIGHT. He played a blinder and took me to play miniature golf at Junkyard Golf, housed in the Old Truman Brewery and it was BLOODY BRILL. The courses are created from old junk (as the name would suggest), disused washing machines, mannequin limbs, dog kennels, old snooker tables. The playlist was sat FIRMLY in the early 2000s (massive shout to to ‘Yeah’ by Usher, what a bae) and we supped cold pints whilst giggling our way round the course. Ace.

Had THE BEST date night at Junkyard Golf last night. Absolutely hysterical holes 👌

  • Brick Lane Beigels
After we had put all our balls in the holes (heheh) we took a stroll down Brick Lane to the 24 hr beigel shop, where we wrapped our chops around a smoked salmon and cream cheese, and a salt beef with mustard. And OH MY. Literally so good. So so tasty, so so cheap and so so essential that you go get one now. Bye.
  • Aperol Spritz in the Sun
On Tuesday England was hotter than the inside of a McDonald’s apple pie so my Mum and I snuck down to the pub in the late afternoon to enjoy a couple of Aperol Spritz’s in the beer garden. Why the bloomin’ heck not eh?
  • My Brother’s New Single
Sam, my brother, is one third of dance/house production outfit Knoxa and the stuff they produce is insanely good. Today they released their next single, Something More featuring Georgia Ku and GUYS IT IS SUCH A BANGER. I’m so proud. Go download it and let it become your new weekend anthem!

  • Red Dog Saloon
Last night He and I went to meet a couple of pals for dinner and found ourselves at Red Dog Saloon in Soho. ALL OF THE MEAT. We had burgers, short ribs, pulled pork, 3 types of chicken wings, smoked ham mac n cheese, sweet potato fries, poutine and onion rings. AND IT WAS GOOD. So good in fact I forgot to take any photos bc I was too busy INHALING the grub. SOZ.
  • New Boots
Got my hands on these beauties from New Look ready for Autumn. They are so pretty. All gleaming and gorgeous, with a super cute flared block heel (bc this girl is not about that stiletto lyfe no sirreeee) and they are going to look DA BOMB with dark denim and a berry lip in the oncoming darker months.

  • Lumos Ambassador20160915_123956I am beyond excited to have been approached by the Lumos Charity, which J.K Rowling set up, in order to become an ambassador for them to help promote their new campaign. The charity’s mission is to unite children in orphanges and institutions with families, and they’ve just launched a limited edition T-shirt featuring the above design which is super lovely. I’ll be doing a post on the campaign next week, plus I’m super excited to be attending a gala performances of both parts of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child as a charity ambassador on Sunday! J.K HERSELF IS GONNA BE THERE! HOLLAAAAAAAAAA.
  • A New Look
Been promising myself I would get around to giving this blog of mine a bit of a facelift. There’s still some bits I want to adjust but my main goals were to make it cleaner and easier to read, which I reckon I’ve managed?! Any feedback greatly received?

Right, off to make another cup of coffee and listen to the rain patter down. Anyone else starting to feel a bit autumnal?
